Cyanogenmod 11 on Fire Phone is great except that video won't work.

I have been running cyanogenmod on my fire phone for a while now and it works great almost everywhere. But I can't stand not being able to video anything from my camera, and the still images it takes aren't very good anyway.

Surely someone has discovered a way to make the phones camera work properly, and make the camera work inside apps (like google translate). What am I missing? I am almost ready to (shudder) go back to the stock fire OS.

I installed google services and play on my wife's fire phone (running 4.6.6 fire os) and translate worked on her phone, but google now launcher won't work on it. so I don't know what to do. it is getting really sucky to not be able to take good pictures and video, or to be able to use translate.

Does anyone know the solution?

Nook Tablet only boots to Cyanogenmod custom recovery

Would really love some help. :D I flashed the recovery from the CM site. Now when it boots is shows the Cyanoboot screen, and it only boots to recovery from EMMC. Even after side-loading the CM13 zip for acclaim it still just boots to recovery. Any ideas how to get out of recovery?!?!

I also tried to "adb sideload" a different recovery (CWM) but it fails to install, saying "E: footer is wrong, E: signature verification failed"
I can only get into adb sideload mode, as "adb devices" says my device is "UNAUTHORIZED", and can't boot to CM at all.

Anything (other than CM zip) I try to flash from ADB sideload within CM recovery fails due to signature verification. Seems like its checking for updates signed by CM. Ugh, not seeing a way out of this.

[ROM] [6.0.1] [UNOFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 13 for Galaxy Grand Duos [2016/01/16]

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device..

Code:

#include
/*
Your warranty is now void.
 *
 * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
 * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
 * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
 * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
 * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
 */

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod https://github.com/CyanogenMod

Device-specific source code for the Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos are available from https://github.com/Iguma1/cm13_device_samsung_i9082 and https://github.com/pawitp/android_ke.../tree/aosp-6.0

Downloads
ROM:https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=47858
Gapps: http://opengapps.org

What works?
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
RIL (Calls, SMS, Mobile Data)
Sensors (Accelerometer, Compass, Light, Proximity, etc.)
Camera
Video (playback only)
Audio (playback & recording)
GPS
Everything else not listed under "known issues"

Known Issues
Runtime storage permission does not work properly (setns patches are not applied, see PermissionsHostTest CTS test)
AOSP keyboard does not support gesture typing even with gapps installed. This is to prevent crash with not fully compatible gapps packages. If you want gesture typing, install Google Keyboard from the Play Store.
Sometimes wake up causes music stutter
Does not work on 4.1 stock ROM's bootloader, please upgrade to stock 4.2 before flashing

Additionally, Dual SIM has the following limitations (once they work):
Both SIMs are always enabled (no way to disable one SIM)
"Receive incoming call while data is enabled" is always enabled

Installation
Make a backup!
If you were on CM 10.1 or a stock ROM prior to 4.2, upgrade to stock 4.2 first.
Install ClockworkMod recovery with SELinux support. Older CWM will result in a "status 7" error.
Reboot into recovery
If you are using a recovery which mounts /system on boot, unmount it before installing
Wipe data if coming from stock or other ROMs (You may get a "status 7" error if you fail to wipe.)
Install the ROM
Optionally install the Google Apps Addon (In Marshmallow, you MUST flash gapps before booting into the system for the first time or else the proper permissions will not be granted resulting in Setup Wizard crash. If you experience the crash, you will need to do a factory reset.)

To upgrade to a newer build, simply flash the zip. There's no need for data wipe or flashing Google Apps again. (However, if you are experiencing strange issues, you may want to try a wipe.)

Do I need to know anything before installing Cyanogenmod?

My sister owns a Xperia SP and it's damn slow(dunno why). I'll try installing Cyanogenmod 12.1 but before I do, I want to know if there are variations in SP where some might be installable where others aren't. So I won't risk bricking it.

Note : I've checked and it's bootloader is unlockable.

Q&A Cyanogenmod 12.1 (unofficial) gone wrong

Hey guys,

need a little help on this one.
I' ve downloaded the cyanogenmod from winx and I was trying to do a clean ROM-install on my phone (gt-i9305)

I've allready tried to install it with TWRP, Phillz and Clockworkmod. The recoveryinstall of these mods worked fine using odin but after that i wiped all data and dalviks, etc and installed the rom along with the gapps.

The problem I'm having is that it seems to install fine (even factory resetted it after installation) but i can't get past the boot animation screen.

Is there any fix on this or is the phone dead from now on.

Grtz,
C

[SM-G850F][SLTE] CyanogenMod 13.0 UNOFFICIAL BETA1 (Android 6.0) - UPDATE: 2016-01-16

ABOUT THE GALAXY ALPHA CM-13.0 PROJECT

I'm working on getting CyanogenMod working on the Galaxy Alpha since October 2014. This ROM is not complete. There are still features which are not fully working and there are for sure things which need bugfixing. Please check the Known Bugs section before reporting issues.

I work on this project for FREE and putting in a lot of hours into it. A small donation would help to buy better tools to improve the development some day.

RECOVERY

To be able to install the ROM you need a recovery. I suggest to use my TWRP Recovery build. You can find it here.

BACKUP

Before installing the ROM you should create backups. The most important backup is to create one of the EFS partition and store it on safe place on your computer. If something goes wrong you need to restore this partition. It holds information about your device, like the MAC address for your wifi and information for the radio.

DOWNLOAD

You are storing very sensitive information on your phone. You always have to be careful what ROMs you flash and whom you trust. If you don't trust me then don't use my ROM or compile it from source by yourself.
The ROM will be gpg signed with my key 0xCC014E3D. You can verify the ROM with 'gpg --verify cm-12.1-20150901-UNOFFICIAL-slte-beta1.zip.asc '.

Detailed information and instruction for Windows can be found here.

Download BETA

FLASHING THE ROM

As this is a Marshmellow (Android 6) based ROM you need to flash sboot (bootloader) and the modem image from one of the latest LL releases. Or install a LL ROM via the Samsung update option. You can find the latest stock ROM here. Suggested modem version is: G850FXXU2COK6 or newer

I suggest to put the ROM on a USB disk and use a USB OTG cable to flash the ROM. It is also possible to put it on the emulated sdcard and flash it from there.

GAPPS

I suggest to use Open GAPPS.

REPORTING BUGS

Quote:

Give the programmer some credit for basic intelligence: if the program really
didn't work at all, they would probably have noticed. Since they haven't
noticed, it must be working for them. Therefore, either you are doing something
differently from them, or your environment is different from theirs. They need
information; providing this information is the purpose of a bug report. More
information is almost always better than less.

Before reporting bugs, please check the KNOWN BUGS list below and read THIS HOWTO
