Safe to submit Squaretrade warranty claim for Shield tab that was recalled?

So when I first bought my shield tablet, I purchased the squaretrade warranty for it. The tablet was later recalled and so I was sent a new one but I never sent the original back, as I rooted it and whatnot. Well now I am having some weird screen distortion issues when I tap the screen in certain areas on the original tablet. Is it safe to send that tablet into Squaretrade? Or will they check the serial number and know that it was meant to be returned because of the recall and not do anything for me. Thank you.

Help Underdtanding Warranty {Unlock Bootloader}

Hi all,

I am currently OTA updated to 5.1.1 OJ3 and as I understand there is not a way to unlock the boot loader without affecting the warranty counter.

This begs a question. Say I am out of warranty and DONT CARE if my counter shows a modified boot loader. Is there a way to flash an unlocked boot loader and root the device?

Fill me in.

Unroot and stock(going to warranty)

I run a stock Uk firmware which is prerooted and have NDR utils recovery, bootloader is locked, I want to get back to Egyptian or global firmware of stock and unroot so I can take to recovery as the phone has not been very responsive, thanks
