Unofficial CM12.1 some root apps work some not

Hello guys, I am running unofficial CM12.1 on my LENOVO A6000 plus. It's running really very good in terms of performance as well as battery backup, but I am facing some problems.. Even though I have allowed root access to 'apps and adb', some root apps are not working while some are. For ex. Greenify is working great as well as root explorer, in there, I can mount system rw temporarily and delete or add something in system folder. But I can't do the same thing with built in CyanogenMod file manager. Rom toolbox is also not working. I have previously used Xperia U, rooted, bootloader unlocked, running CM11 or stock rom and never had such a problem.. Even on A6000 plus, running stock rom gave me full root access. A lot of searching only reveals me that CM12.1 comes pre rooted. Then why root is not working for me? In terminal emulator if I type 'su', $ changes to #, that means I have root access. My thinking says, it might be because my root partition is not mounted as rw by default that's why I am facing these problem.. What you, more experienced guys think?

[FORCE] Apps to Freeze safely

Hey rooted Force users! Anyone tried freezing apps? I have a few apps frozen without any problems:
Cloud Print
com.android.providers.partnerbookmarks
com.motorola.authentification
Device Management
Google Plus
Motorola Checkin
Motorola One Time Init

You guys can add on the list. I'm wondering if anyone froze the service Motorola Notification without any problems.

So few apps?

Just got a Nexus player in the UK and its a good little box or it should be. I got it mainly for Plex as the app is very nice but other than that and Kodi there is nothing on it hardly.

I would have thought it would have Uk catch up tv at a minimum but nothing. Hardly any really good apps in play store either.

Is Android Tv dead? Seems very poor for something thats been out a while now.

Cm12.1 certain apps won't install.

Hello, I'm running the cm12.1 nightly which is up to date, while restoring backed up apps via titanium backup a few 3-4 failed. After finishing the rest I tried to download those apps from the playstore and they failed again. It's not giving any error codes or anything just says "app not installed".
Any thoughts?

List root apps you like

What are some cool apps for root? Or maybe some apps that add features that you'd think might require root.

Here's what I've got:
Pixel Filter - turn off pixels to save battery or to dim the display beyond stock limits.
Swipe Navigation - disable the nav bar to save screen space then swipe instead.
Simple Reboot - stock ROM doesn't include a reboot menu.
Root explorer - edit the build.prop, and awesome file manager in general.

Howto update Pure Nexus incl. Baseband, Bootloader + Backup Apps?

Hi,
after managing to unlock the bootloader, turning off the forced encryption and flashing Pure Nexus I am very happy to have a nice system.

However I am still on version 6.0.1-20151219 and I would like to test the newest version.

What is the best way to update to the newest version without loosing my apps? After doing some research (I am a noob) this strategy seems to be the best:

1) Do a complete nandroid backup over TWRP just in case of failure
2) Backup all user apps over Titanium Backup
3) Transfer backup folders of TWRP and Titanium Backup to my PC for later use
4) Download the newest shamu stock ROM from Google and extract it
5) Start my device in fastboot mode
6) Run

fastboot flash bootloader C:/image-shamu-XXXXXX/bootloader.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio C:/image-shamu-XXXXXX/radio.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader

7) Start recovery (TWRP)
8) Do "Wipe data/factory data reset"
9) Flash newest Pure Nexus + gapps
10) Reboot
11) Configure phone (google apps etc.)
12) Install Titanium Backup, copy back backup folder and restore all apps
13) Done

Anything I missed or something wrong?

Thank you very much for your feedback!

[Solution] Apps Disappearing after moving to SD [Apps2SD on Xperia L] [Custom Rom]

Firstly i should say that this is actually a partial solution! :D
I don't responsible for anything that happens to your device. Try with your own risk. :p

Old saying : Somthing is better than nothing :D

I should say that i'm on Stryflex Lollipop rom 5.1.1. And i don't know whether this is working for other roms too. :p

This is for who already has install Apps2SD / Link2SD app correct with mount script.

First move only the APK and LIB files.
(then restart/power off n on the phone see whether the app is still on the app drawer.) :D

After the restart move the app's ODEX file.
(then restart/power off n on the phone see whether the app is still on the app drawer.) :p

So far so good right? :D

Well i din't move the DATA files to the SD yet. ;)

Issue with 'recent apps' button.

Hi there!

I've got an issue with my 'recent apps' button on my Galaxy S5 G900F running Phoenix ROM v10.2. I installed this ROM yesterday and everything was fine and the 'recent apps' window showed up perfectly. Today I've been playing about with the phone, installing icon/theme packs and installing Xposed / modules. Only just now I've realised the button isn't working as intended. Let me make it clear the actual button works fine because if I long press it I get the window come up where I can add more homescreens, change wallpaper, etc.. I also went into recovery and done a key test and again the key works fine.

While in recovery I also wiped dalvik cache but that didn't work. Before doing that I also removed the Xposed modules and theme/icon packs in case it was one of them causing issues but again, that didn't work.

Really stuck now on what to try next, I've got a nandroid backup which I did soon as I finished installing the ROM so if need be my last resort would be to do that, don't really want to have to as I've put a few hours into setting the phone up now lol

I'm open to suggestions, so please fire away.

Thanks.
